have you tried hpm ?
Can anyone help with a copy of the HPM iBAS software????
My friend has an old Compaq laptop running XP with an iBAS installation (software and serial provided to him by HPM years ago). When this original machine died, he managed to source an identical compaq and switched in the hard disk and network card from the old one. Apparently the serial code he received from HPM is generated based on the MAC address of the network card. He no longer has a copy of the original install media etc.
Now the problem. My friend left me this laptop with the idea that I would make a virtual machine image of the system running under XP so he could run it in some newer and more reliable hardware. My first step was to take a backup of the system and to cut a long story short, the 16 yo hard disk has failed to the extent that I can no longer read any data from it. Unless I can get a hold of the software (and then somehow manage to install it) it looks like a costly disk recovery exercise might be the only other option.
If someone can help out with this, or point me to some other resources etc it would be much appreciated.
cheers,
Ron

Nah, they won't be of help (no longer do this stuff), and iBAS was superseded by iControl, blabla. There's another thread here about all this -->
*IF* you could find the iControl software, the driver is still out there ->
Realistically -- the cost of harddrive recovery probably exceeds the cost of upgrading to a newer automation system...at a guess =)
